The Terry Schoener Act of Kindness Award
Honoring Kindness. Celebrating Community.
The Severna Park Community Center is proud to present the Terry Schoener Act of Kindness Award, created to honor the spirit and legacy of the Rev. Dr. Terry Schoener, whose unwavering compassion and community leadership helped shape the Center we know and love today.
This annual award recognizes an individual or organization that has gone above and beyond through acts of kindness in and for the community—deeds done selflessly, with no expectation of anything in return. Whether it’s lending a helping hand, supporting a neighbor in need, or championing inclusivity, this award celebrates the heart of our community: kindness in action.
What the Award Includes:
The recipient will receive a $500 credit (in the form of a gift certificate) to use for any program, service, or rental at the Severna Park Community Center. There’s no expiration date, and the credit can be used by the awardee or a family member.
How to Nominate:
Nominations are open to the public year-round, and each summer, the Governance Committee reviews all submissions to select a finalist, with the award announced in the fall.
