S.E.A.L.S.

To promote water safety and foster physical fitness and emotional health in children and adults with special needs, the S.E.A.L.S. program offers comprehensive adaptive aquatic lessons and training from basic swimming skills through competitive swim team. Our aim is to enhance the quality, health, and safety of the daily lives for participants and their family members within a safe and supportive community environment.

 

Classes

Please note that participants cannot begin classes until the registration form is received.

S.E.A.L.S – Private (one-on-one)
All Ages
This is our “introduction to water and learn to swim” program for children and adults with little to no swimming experience. Participants work one-on-one with instructors on basic swimming skills and water safety. Lessons are individualized to meet the needs of each person.

S.E.A.L.S – Small Group
All Ages

This ​is for those who have acquired basic swimming skills but want to become stronger swimmers. Lessons are designed to build skills one step at a time.

S.E.A.L.S Swim Team (Youth and Adult)
Ages: 6 to Adult
Swimmers must be able to swim 25 yards independently and follow directions from coaches on deck. There are three intra-squad meets a year for swimmers who want to compete. Many swimmers also participate in Special Olympics.

Multiple Sclerosis Water Exercise Class
Ages: All Ages
Water-based exercise is valuable for relieving many symptoms of multiple sclerosis and provides an opportunity to prevent secondary symptoms of MS, maintain mobility and maximize flexibility, muscle strength and endurance.

All S.E.A.L.S. programs are provided through grant funding and are free to qualified participants.
