YOUTH SWIM AND TRAINING

SPCC provides opportunities for all youth who wish to swim. Talented, caring coaches and a supportive community provide a platform for life long skills and friendships. ​By registering for an aquatics program, you certify that you have read, understood & agreed to our registration policies and waivers.  

Refunds & Cancellations
Refunds are not given unless a session is cancelled.  Credits for medical conditions are considered and are only valid 6 months from the issue date.  Individual classes cancelled due to inclement weather or pool maintenance/repair will be rescheduled. 



Stroke and Turn Clinic

Stroke mechanics, learning to swim practice sets, and an introduction to competition, including starts, turns, and  finishes, will be the basis for the Stroke and Turn Clinic.  
Knowledge of four strokes and able to swim Freestyle and Backstroke required. Swimmers will be grouped by age as well as ability.

INTRAMURAL SWIM (IMST)
​
​SPCC’s Intramural Swim Team's (IMST) is ideal for the youth swimmer who aspires to join a year around competitive swim team, or who may not have the time to commit to a time-intensive competitive swim program. The focus is to build a strong foundation for competitive swimming through improving stroke mechanics, event swimming, and endurance. Each swimmer will identify individual goals and will be encouraged to reach their highest potential. Swimmers will be grouped by age as well as ability.

Monday 7:00 - 8:00pm & Saturday 9:30 - 10:30am​​
  • Spring Session: 3/14 - 5/23 (No 4/16)
Tuesday 7:00 - 8:00pm & Sunday 4:00 - 5:00pm​​
  • Spring Session: 3/15 - 5/24 (No 4/17)
Thursday 7:00 - 8:00pm & Sunday 5:00 - 6:00pm​
  • Spring Session: 3/17-5/26 (No 4/17)

Junior Swim Team​

In a supportive team environment, the purpose of Junior Swim Team (JST) is to improve stroke efficiency, develop event specific techniques, and build endurance. Each swimmer must be able to swim 2 lengths of the pool and have knowledge of at least two competitive strokes.

unior swim is designed for children 9 & under.

High School Prep (Fall Program Only)

Designed to prepare high school swimmers for the upcoming high school swim team season.
SPCC offers both an AACPS and MIAA option to fit every student athlete. 



Homeschool Swim Team

Geared specifically for the homeschooler who wants to learn or compete, SPCC now offers weekday swim team training.

What Our Community Is Saying

As a former competitive swimmer myself, I introduced my daughter  to swimming at a tender age of 6 months; however she was so terrified of being in any body of water such that even giving her a bath was quite a challenge.
 However at age 4 she suddenly told us that she wanted to learn how to swim and so we brought her to Severna Park Community Center (SPCC) and what a beautiful experience we have had. The instructors are so polite, professional and sensitive to the needs of each individual child and our daughter fit right in.  At SPCC she has progressed from not knowing how to swim to being one of the best swimmers in her age group! We as parents are so proud of her achievements at SPCC with the help of the super wonderful aquatic center staff.  We highly recommend SPCC aquatic center to any parent that is serious about having their child/children learn how to swim and you will not be disappointed!
