Group Swim Lessons/Classes  (Child through Adult)

Picture
The Severna Park Community Center's swim lesson program is based on well-regarded, nationally-accredited programs. Using a pediatrician-recommended, developmentally sound philosophy, we promote water safety, elementary swimming skills and stroke refinement through progressive, focused instruction.   We cater to anyone interested in recreational or competitive swimming.
  • Our instructors are credentialed through the Red Cross Water Safety Instruction Certificate (or equivalent experience) and attend in-house clinics to learn best practices, master new teaching techniques and share creative lesson plans.

Refunds & Cancellations
Refunds are not given unless a session is cancelled.  Credits for medical conditions are considered and are only valid 6 months from the issue date.  Individual classes cancelled due to inclement weather or pool maintenance/repair will be rescheduled.

COVID Procedures:
As we return to programming, please keep these very important things in mind:
  1. To maximize social distancing, please only have one parent/guardian attend per child. If seating is unavailable on deck, parents/guardians may be asked to wait outside.
  2. Please do not arrive before your lesson time and exit promptly after to prevent lesson groups from overlapping.

The Severna Park Community Center will charge an annual registration fee of $25 per person (maximum of $50 per family), to help with system upgrades and ongoing building maintenance & repairs.  The fee will be charged just one time annually, and will be good for 12 months from the date paid.  Following the emergency pool renovations last month, we realize that at twenty-five years old, the possibility of repairs, emergency or other, are going to increase. Thank you for helping us to keep this center a place where you can safely gather, play, grow, and thrive!

What Our Community Is Saying

As a former competitive swimmer myself, I introduced my daughter  to swimming at a tender age of 6 months; however she was so terrified of being in any body of water such that even giving her a bath was quite a challenge.
However at age 4 she suddenly told us that she wanted to learn how to swim and so we brought her to Severna Park Community Center (SPCC) and what a beautiful experience we have had. The instructors are so polite, professional and sensitive to the needs of each individual child and our daughter fit right in.  At SPCC she has progressed from not knowing how to swim to being one of the best swimmers in her age group! We as parents are so proud of her achievements at SPCC with the help of the super wonderful aquatic center staff.  We highly recommend SPCC aquatic center to any parent that is serious about having their child/children learn how to swim and you will not be disappointed!
