Sarah Elder, Executive Director

Executive Director Sarah Elder joined the Severna Park Community Center in 2018, bringing with her more than twenty years of executive nonprofit experience. A native of Anne Arundel County, Sarah previously led fundraising, operations, marketing, and program development for local nonprofits including the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, National Aquarium in Baltimore, Chesapeake Conservancy, Historic Annapolis Foundation, and the American Urological Association Foundation. Sarah earned her Executive Certificate in Nonprofit Leadership from Duke University in 2015.
As one of five girls growing up in and around the United States Naval Academy (her father taught physics), Sarah played violin in a string quartet with her sisters for family reunions, church services, and more. As a young adult, Sarah was part of the team that helped start the Severna Park Evangelical Presbyterian Church, as a Sunday School teacher. When she’s not at the Center, Sarah can be found at flea markets, antique shows, and craft fairs, gathering supplies for her jewelry-making pastime. Stop by the Center’s office today to meet our Director and say hello!
