What is Pickleball?
Open to athletes of all ages and abilities, Pickleball is an active game played on a court, with a net. It's played with a paddle and a whiffle ball. Pickleball volleys like tennis and scores like badminton. Pickleball is a fast-growing sport throughout the U.S. with a governing body (USA Pickleball Association), regulations and tournaments. At SPCC, we play for fun, fitness and friendships.
*SPCC has updated Pickleball sessions & procedures due to COVID and to ensure healthy and safety guidelines are in place.
Updated Pickleball Procedures: 1. Face masks or coverings to be worn inside at all times even while participating in a physical activity. If you need to remove your mask to take a “breathing" break, please step outside of the building, and remove your mask away from others. When ready, you’re welcome to come back in and resume your reserved activity. 2. Pickleball play time will need to be reserved, drop-in play has been temporarily canceled. 3. To reserve a time, please log onto EZ Facility. Times for sessions are on EZ Facility. **Please note that the scheduling system Play Time, is not used at SPCC. If you want to reserve space on the court all scheduling needs to be done through EZ Facility.
5. To help with touch-less transactions, all Pickleball passes will need to be turned in to the front desk. When you arrive for your Pickleball session, scan you card to document your play time. 6. If you don't have a Pickleball pass, you are still able to pay at the front desk or log onto EZ Facility to purchase your pass. 7. SPCC Pickleball rackets will NOT be given out for use at this time. Please remember to bring your racket. 8. Pickleballs will be available to use. You are more than welcome to bring your own if you prefer. 9. Chairs will be placed 6ft. apart. Fees: Drop in rate of $7 per player per session. Pickleball Pass has 15 plays for $82.50. The Severna Park Community Center will charge an annual registration fee of $25 per person (maximum of $50 per family), to help with system upgrades and ongoing building maintenance & repairs. The fee will be charged just one time annually, and will be good for 12 months from the date paid. Following the emergency pool renovations last month, we realize that at twenty-five years old, the possibility of repairs, emergency or other, are going to increase. Thank you for helping us to keep this center a place where you can safely gather, play, grow, and thrive! Why should you join us?
