We were so happy to open up the Severna Park Voice today and see some of our favorite folks on the pages!
First, congrats to gala committee member Barb Kalafos for being celebrated as this month's Marguerite Mills Volunteer of the Month for all her support of the arts in our county, and specifically of the awesome Rock and Roll Revival at SPHS. Go Barb!
Our very own Shelly Beigel is a guest columnist this month, writing about all the improved offerings in Aquatics and Fitness at the center. You can read all about those right here. We also appreciate the shout out about the upcoming Emily Schindler Memorial Triathlon, profiled in the Voice here. This wonderful local competition includes categories for athletes of all abilities, and proceeds fund the Emily Schindler Memorial Scholarship fund. Register for a little friendly competition by visiting the tri's homepage at www.emilystriathlon.com. Swim, Bike, Run, SP!
Finally, we have 1 week to go until this year's Soaring to New Heights Gala at Chartwell! The event has sold out, but sponsorships remain available for all who wish to support the mission of the Severna Park Community Center. The Voice recognizes Larry Sells, this year's honoree, in their article right here.
We are so grateful to be living in a small town with a wonderful hometown newspaper like the Voice!
