Event Sponsorships

3/14/2018

We are so grateful for recent bronze event sponsorships from some of our favorite local folks and businesses.

While our guests may tell you that their favorite part of our gala is the "party part", the true success of our gala is measured in the amount of financial support it generates for the center.

The center relies heavily on fundraising to not only maintain our facility and pay our staff, but also to create innovative new programming, host community events and celebrations, and allow local nonprofits low-cost space and resources to bring their services to the communities they serve.

None of this would be possible without strong, ongoing support of the center from corporate and individual sponsors such as those listed below.  Please consider a sponsorship of our event!  You can find all the details right here, and reach April Saba, our Director of Space Planning, Events and Marketing by simply clicking on her name.

We hope you will join us on April 14th for a great night of celebration, and encourage you to support these corporate sponsors who support the work of the Severna Park Community Center.  Thank you.

Introducing Larry Sells

2/21/2018

PictureThe Mayor of Severna Park, Larry Sells
This year’s “Soaring to New Heights” Gala will honor Larry Sells, affectionately known as “Mr. Mayor of Severna Park”.

Larry and his wife Robin live in Shipley’s Choice and raised their 5 children there, actively volunteering in many of the area’s philanthropic, civic and youth organizations.  You will recognize Larry’s voice as the P.A. announcer for Severna Park High School home football, baseball and some basketball games, as well as the Baltimore Touchdown Club’s annual showcase game featuring senior athletes from around the state.  Larry is past president of the Severna Park Falcon Athletic Boosters and was elected to the Severna Park Athletic Hall of Fame in 2012.

Larry’s commitment to the community is showcased with his leadership and involvement in the Severna Park Community Center, Greater Severna Park Athletic Association (Green Hornets,) Pasadena Business Association, Severna Park and Arnold Chamber of Commerce “Shop Local.”  As the COO and Vice President of Sales and Development at The Voice Media, Inc., the publisher of the Severna Park Voice and Pasadena Voice, Larry is constantly shaking hands and making friends in our community. For his dedication to community and willingness to serve, Larry is the ideal honoree for this year’s gala.

If you haven't already seen it, check out this great Facebook live stream video of Larry talking about the Center's importance with Board Chair, David Orso!  Thank you, Larry, for all your service and support of the Severna Park Community Center.

We are so grateful to Paper in the Park, who has done the gala invitations for many years.  The creativity of Kassy, Susie and their crew never ceases to amaze us.  They are a local treasure. Thank you!

We LOVE the artwork and invitations to this year's Gala, and are excited to get them out in the mail to our longtime supporters, benefactors and friends of the center.

BUT! If you just can't wait to receive yours, please buy your tickets (or tables!) today right here on our website.  You do not need an invitation to join us for this special night.

We can't wait to welcome you to a wonderful night of drinks, dinner and dancing at Chartwell, just 2 months from now.  See you then, Severna Park!

Save The Date: April 14, 2018

1/31/2018

The Gala Auction returns!  Please join us as we honor Larry Sells, COO and Vice-President of Sales for The Voice Media. Keep your eyes trained right here as we celebrate all things auction.  And while you're waiting, please enjoy some of these photos from last year's Super Hero Gala.
See you in April, SP!

What Our Community Is Saying

As a former competitive swimmer myself, I introduced my daughter  to swimming at a tender age of 6 months; however she was so terrified of being in any body of water such that even giving her a bath was quite a challenge.
However at age 4 she suddenly told us that she wanted to learn how to swim and so we brought her to Severna Park Community Center (SPCC) and what a beautiful experience we have had. The instructors are so polite, professional and sensitive to the needs of each individual child and our daughter fit right in.  At SPCC she has progressed from not knowing how to swim to being one of the best swimmers in her age group! We as parents are so proud of her achievements at SPCC with the help of the super wonderful aquatic center staff.  We highly recommend SPCC aquatic center to any parent that is serious about having their child/children learn how to swim and you will not be disappointed!
